Best OTDR

Anritsu MT1000-23A

HANDPICKED LASER - LONG RANGE - SPEED - LOW NOISE

OTDR Testing Capabilities – Our OTDRs, Microscopes and tools allow us to Commission, Maintain and Fault Find your fibre Networks. We achieve this quickly and precisely, saving you time and money.

1. Commissioning – Prove the installed fibre network is up to specification. For Multimode fibre commonly used in data networks, we can do this at 850nm and 1300nm. For Singlemode fibre used in Telecom, FTTx, Mobile Networks, Renewables and Offshore Industries we are able to do this at a wide range of operational bands. Original band 1310nm testing, Conventional band 1550nm and Ultralong band 1650nm testing are all available from ATF Fibre.

2. Maintenance – Using our range of OTDRs we can highlight potential network issues before they become problems, we can give you a fibre network health check with measurements of end to end loss and Optical Return Loss (ORL).

3. Fast Fault Finding – Our top of the range Anritsu OTDRs allow us to find breaks, bends, bad splices and damaged connectors quickly.

4. Fibre Monitoring – Monitor fibres for bending and damage during deployment of cables for offshore wind farm installations and oil and gas projects.

5. Remote Monitoring – Our Anritsu MT1000A unit can be set up at a distant location and can be controlled and monitored remotely. This makes it ideal for long term testing and cable proving and can isolate intermittent faults on the network.

6. Long Distance Testing – Our long range OTDR will test 200+km at 1550nm on G.652 fibre.

7. In-Service Testing – Using our 1650nm long wavelength unit we can test fibre while it is in operation. Most fibre systems operate at 1310 or 1550nm and a 1650nm OTDR can sit on the same link and will not interfere with traffic at the other wavelengths.

8. 1650nm also allows us to test the far end of the fibre operation window (ITU, U band testing), and highlights bends more clearly than 1550nm or 1625nm OTDRs will do.

9. Mobile Networks – OTDR FTTA, Fibre to the Antenna Testing.

10. FTTH capable - Our OTDRs can test through 1 x 128 splitters used in FTTH with high fidelity which means we can identify clearly events beyond the splitter - not all OTDRs can do this effectively.

11. Connector Inspection – in our experience connectors are the weak point in a fibre network and our AGT4BHH360 auto focusing microscope allows us to quickly identify damaged connectors. This is particularly a problem for high speed networks where high reflections from connectors can disrupt the laser in the transmission equipment and can lead to Ghost bits in the system that increase noise and generate bit errors.

We can generate images of damaged connectors, PDF reports and IEC 61300-3-35 based pass/fail analysis if required.
